4Mal: About us (English version)

4Mal (Anton Guzev and Evgeny Svalov) are one of the most successful and recognized young electronic dance musicians in Russia. During 4 years of music production, over 50 singles and remixes by 4Mal were released on leading Western and Eastern progressive house record labels.
The most significant are: Global Underground / GU Music (UK), Armada Records / Armind (The Netherlands), Baroque Records / Baroque Limited / Wildchild Records (United Kingdom), 19Box Recordings (Japan), BeatFreak / Distinto Recordings (Spain), Coldharbour Recordings (The Netherlands), Mondo Records (United Kingdom), New State Recordings / Maelstrom (United Kingdom), Alter Ego / Alter Ego Progressive (United Kingdom), Bellarine Recordings (Australia).
4Mal were awarded for their music and DJ sets a number of time in Russia: The Golden Disc «Best Track of The Year» — «4Mal feat. Second Sky — The Game» and «Best Trance / Progressive House DJ of the Year» — #3 at «E1.ru Club Culture Acknowledgement 2009», «Best Radioshow of the Year» — «Full House» together with Full House DJs at «FACE Of The Year Awards 2009», Breakthrough Artist Of The Year — #8 — «Muzzone Awards 2009», , #65 at TOP 100 DJ.ru 2008, #22 at Pro TOP 100 DJ.ru 2007, «Best Musician» at «Welcome Music Night Life Awards 2006».
The 4Mal duo made their debut on the Western electronic dance music scene in early 2005. Anton and Evgeny were the first musicians from Russia who released their single on the famous British label, Baroque Records. The first vinyl was called «4Mal — Twilight», the record was repressed 3 times due to high demand. Since then new 4Mal productions were remixed by many outstanding producers including D-Formation, J Velarde, Jaytech, Matt Rowan, Steve May, Topher Jones, Jav D and many others.
4Mal music is regularly played in clubs, on the radio and is included into CD compilations by the most upfront producers and DJs including Paul van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Hernan Cattaneo, Armin van Buuren, Andy Moor, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Steve Lawler, Matt Darey, Solarstone, Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, David West, Desyn Masiello, MoShic and Deep Dish.
Paul van Dyk presented one of the new 4Mal productions, «4Mal present Square Coil — Static Noise», in his «VONYC Sessions» radioshow in 2007 and mentioned live: «4Mal guys are always responsible for some really really cool material!».
One year after, in 2008, the recognized British producer Richard «Solarstone» Mowatt evaluated the new 4Mal single «The Game» in his «Solaris International» radioshow: «Isn’t that a brilliant tune? 4Mal featuring Second Sky, the track is called „The Game“ and that is forthcoming on a brand new label called FlipCube, and if that track is anything to go by we should be expecting mighty big things from them this year!».
In 2009, Japan’s Number One, DJ 19 (Hiro Tanaka)called 4Mal «Russian melodic progressive genius».
Nowadays 4Mal are very active both in the studio and at night, their DJ schedule is getting tougher every year, in 2008 Anton and Evgeny played over 120 gigs just on the territory of Russia.
4Mal are being permanently invited to open the nights for the top level international guests, they already warmed up for Above & Beyond, Infected Mushroom, Seb Fontaine, Tomcraft, Dave Dresden, Ronski Speed, The Blizzard, King Roc, Sarah Main, Alexandra Prince, Syke’n’Sugastarr, Jim Rivers, Rob Mooney, SL Curtiz, Add2Basket and Alex Kenji.
In 2008 Anton & Evgeny launched their own label, FlipCube Records, which releases only newest 4Mal productions. Evgeny Svalov was invited to join Radio Pilot 105FM crew and is now producing the 4Mal radioshow about Russian electronic dance music, «Russian Cybernetics» and a special radioshow about refreshing international house and trance tracks, «FlipCube Sessions» on Pure.FM.
